The hotel has been home to Peter and Alison for 20 years – a British couple who moved to Itter with their two sons.
One day, they came across our flyer, and shortly after, an email landed in our inbox. They were considering their next chapter and invited us to stop by.
It was love at first sight – both with the place and with the dream of continuing the hotel’s story.
The journey here hasn’t been easy. We’ve worked our way through mountains of paperwork, encountered bumps along the road, and learned a lot in the process. But we’ve also met so many kind and warm-hearted people who have helped make our dream come true: to run a small, cozy family hotel together.
On September 9th, 2024, we officially took over the hotel and began a gentle transformation. The previous owners had taken such good care of the place, so our focus has been on adding a generous dose of Danish hygge and personality – without changing the hotel’s beautiful Austrian charm.
We – Jyttemor, Krudt, and Muddie – live in a private part of the hotel ourselves, and our boys attend the local school and high school.
When you come to visit, you’re not just stepping into a hotel – you’re stepping into our home. And we can’t wait to share it with you.

Hotel Edelweiss is located right in the heart of the charming little village of Itter, on a sunny plateau with breathtaking mountain views – just three minutes from the ski lift, with a free ski bus right at the door.
Itter is part of the large SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental area and is a fantastic destination – both in summer and winter.
